Dilek, a founder partner of Istanbul Patent & Trademark Consultancy Ltd., is a registered trademark attorney and a legal attorney licensed by the Bar of Istanbul.

Dilek especially dealt with intellectual property conflicts including those arising from patent and trademark rights. She is the head of the Foreign Trademark and Internet Domain Name Disputes-Resolution Department. She has been working as a trademark attorney since 1997. Her articles appeared in various newspapers, periodicals and books in Turkey. Dilek Ustun serves as an expert on her area of specialization especially on Domain Name Disputes.

Dilek USTUN has been selected as the first WIPO panelist from Turkey under the organization’s Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. Dilek is also appointed for the INTA (International Trademark Association) Programming Subcommittee of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADR). Besides, she is the only Turkish Panelist who works for Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) Beijing Office. She speaks English.

Dilek is an active an active member of the following associations;- Legal Adviser and Board Member of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER),- INTA and MARQUES (The Association of European Trademark Owners) and AIPPI.

Guven, a founder partner of Istanbul Patent & Trademark Consultancy Ltd., is a Marmara University Law School graduate who was admitted to the Istanbul bar in 1994 and has been practicing as a professional lawyer since then. Guven, amongst other intellectual property rights, focused her attention and energy exclusively on conflicts stemming from trademark and industrial design rights. Her responsibilities within Istanbul Patent & Trademark Consultancy Ltd., extends to the management of Domestic Trademarks and Industrial Designs. She has been acting as a trademark attorney since 1997 and is an active member of Patent and Trademark Society and National Franchising Organization (UFRAD)

She also focused on creating, searching trademarks and conflict resolution regarding trademarks and industrial designs before Turkish Patent Institute. She gives consulting service concerning new trademark-brand names which could face with rejection before Turkish Patent Institute.

She is a member of AIPPI Turkey.

Erkan SEVINC

Erkan studied aeronautics engineering at Istanbul Technical University, graduated in 1995 and later on obtained his M.Sc. degree from the graduate program in Mechanical Engineering at Bogazici University. His graduate thesis related to CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis of 3-D flows around blunt bodies.

He has later on worked in the industry in the field of HVAC engineering (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) after which he enrolled in an experimental research program conducted at the tri-sonic aerodynamics laboratory of Istanbul Technical University. He then joined Istanbul Patent in January 2000.

Erkan represents local and international clients before the Turkish PTO, the EPO and the WIPO. He practices in many fields of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering including constructions, vehicles safety, medical instruments, heat transfer devices, material technologies, measuring and testing equipment, manufacturing technologies etc. He is actively involved in drafting and prosecuting of patent applications as well as conducting infringement and nullity analysis and also preparing for oppositions before the Turkish PTO and the EPO.

Erkan Sevinc, has been appointed a large number of times since 2004 by the specialized IP courts of Istanbul as a “court appointed expert” for counseling Courts in handling patent disputes.

Erkan is also a member of FICPI, AIPPI and also EPI. Besides, he is a founding member of national groups of AIPPI Turkiye and also LES (Licensing Executives Society).

Baris ATALAY

Baris studied electrical engineering at Istanbul Technical University, graduated in 2001 and later on worked in industry until which he was granted a scholarship to study technology management in Maastricht University. After obtaining his MA degree, he joined Istanbul Patent team in 2003.

Baris represents local and international clients before the Turkish PTO, the EPO and the WIPO. He practices in many fields of electrical and electro-mechanical engineering including power electronics, household appliances, medical instruments, computer-related technologies, measuring and testing equipment, lighting technologies, power infrastructure and secondary systems such as CCTV, fire and intrusion systems. He is actively involved in drafting and prosecution of patent applications, conducting infringement and nullity analyses, preparing notices of opposition before the Turkish PTO and the EPO. He also acts as a court appointed expert in Istanbul IP courts on an occasional basis.

He passed the EQE and was entitled as a European Patent Attorney in 2011. He is the first person from Turkey having passed the EQE after Turkey acceded to EPC in the year 2000. He speaks fluent English, French and intermediate German.

Aydın MUTLU

Aydin Mutlu, after studing chemical engineering at Hacettepe University, has concentrated on fuel cell components at Istanbul University and completed his M.Sc. in the chair of Process and Reactor Design. He completed and internship in the Organic Fine Chemicals plant of Bayer AG located in Leverkusen/Germany and he further worked for Bayer for the second time where he was involved in a project with regards to formaldehyde process catalysts in Catalysts and Reactor Design department of the Bayer Technology Services. He joined Istanbul Patent in 2004 and he has been actively working in the patent field, as a patent attorney, serving for the local and international clients from various fields such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, industrial chemicals, metal, metallurgy and electrochemistry. He usually conducts patent searches, drafting of patent specifications, analysis of infringement and nullity, and analysis of freedom to operate etc. He is also dealing with plant breeders rights which is a relatively new field of IP rights in Turkey since 2007. He is able to speak English and German.

Dr. Ozgur Ozturk, following his graduation from Ankara University School of Law in 1994, completed the master program at the same university in Labour Law. Later he was awarded Fulbright Scholarship and received LLM degree from Golden Gate University. Dr. Ozturk conducted research at UC Berkeley Boalt Hall and Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law, Munich on patent law issues and received his title from Istanbul University with his dissertation “Conditions of Patentability under Turkish Law”.

Dr. Ozgur Ozturk is a faculty member of Istanbul Technical University School of Management since 1996 and he teaches on Patent and Utility Model Law, Intellectual Property Law, Commercial Law, Business Law and Labour Law in ITU and in several other universities and institutions as visiting lecturer.

Dr. Onur Sögüt

After obtaining his bachelors degree in chemical engineering field at Ankara University, Onur took roles in several scientific research projects, specifically on process control (M.Sc. work) and supercritical fluids (Ph.D. work) at Yildiz Technical University located in Istanbul. His works as a research and teaching assistant were published as eight original research articles and eleven conference proceedings, six of which were presented in several international meetings.

Onur has joined Istanbul Patent at 2012 and he is currently carrying out patent searches, drafting of patent specifications, freedom to operate and patent scope analyses in the fields of his professional interest including interdisciplinary areas such as process design, chemical substances design and production, organic-, colloids-, surface- and electrochemistry.

He speaks English and German.

Kemal Baran Yildirim studied mechanical engineering at Sakarya University, later on has started his M.Sc. degree from the graduate program in “Nano Science & Nano Engineering” at Istanbul Technical University.

During his bachelor’s degree, he was granted "Erasmus Internship scholarships" and went to Fachhochschule Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf and participated in experiments about fluid mechanics and heat transfers by using Solidworks, Ansys and relevant softwares.

He conducts patent search and drafting of domestic or foreign patent applications which are related to mechanical applications. Kemal Baran Yildirim speaks fluent English and intermediate Czech.

He is a member of Chamber of Mechanical Engineers.

Abdurrahim Ayaz, a member of our foreign trademarks team graduated from Istanbul University Law School in 1996. He lived in United States from 1997 to 2004. During this time, he studied Law and Business Administration. He was registered to the Istanbul Bar in 2005 and is currently a registered Trademark Attorney with the Turkish PTO.

He is entitled to act as a TM attorney for most of our international clients. He speaks fluent English.

In 2006, she was granted "FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP" and went to Washington University in St. Louis to get "Intellectual Property and Technology Law" LL.M degree. Katy studied Law at University of Robert Schuman in Strasbourg (France) and graduated in June 2007 from the CEIPI (The Centre for International Industrial Property Studies) in Intellectual Property, Distribution Networks and International Trade Law. After finishing her studies in 2007, she became a Legal Intern in two different Trademark Attorney Offices in Paris. She then joined Istanbul Patent team in June 2008. She speaks fluent French and English.

Preceding her Master study, Özden Yüce has graduated from the Faculty of Law in Istanbul University. Following her graduation, She has completed her internship Lawyer in Istanbul Legal Office in 2004. She has completed her LLM degree in 2006 in same faculty. Due to her LLM degree subject study, she has been to United States for research of Master thesis subject in detail, and worked in International Amnesty International for one year. Completed her LLM degree in subject "Intellectual Property and Copyrights", and her thesis has been published as book.

Özden Yüce has joined to Istanbul Patent in 2011, focues on Legal services and subjects which addresses Legal Disputes - related consultancy services.
